When fear runs amok your nerves,
And panic grips the heart,
When you are at your worst,
All broken and torn apart,
When you can’t muster the courage to fight,
To find the strength to overcome your grief,
It is at this moment, don’t forget,
Where your true strength comes from in need.
Your true strength is not subservient to the constrains of your life,
It is not decided by the people you surround,
Your true strength is not a derivative of all previous struggle and strife,
It is not a product of fortunes made and found.
True strength comes from the sheer grit of your soul,
An ability to face every difficulty with a smile,
It is the power to be humble enough to accept your mistakes,
To be determined enough to go the extra mile.
It is to never give up, no matter how difficult it gets,
It is to stand up to adversity, no matter what begets.
For the bittersweet taste of victory, can only be complete,
When one reaps the harvest grown from their own seeds of defeat.
